WE WILL NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE AUSTRIANS
Kometal Gjorcje Petrov will play with with the Austrian and eight times European Champions, Hypo from Vienna o nce again. That is what was decided o n the draw that was held this Tuesday in Vienna. Being familiar with the history of the matches between the two teams, it is very clear that this semi-final will be spectacular both o n handball and every other field.
The opinions of the president of the club, Mr Ivan Bojkov, and the captain of the team, Indira Kastratovikj, about the rival and the chances to succeed are following further in this article.

Are you satisfied with the draw and what do you think about the opposing team of Hypo?
- We didn’t have a special wish about the draw because every team in the semi finals of the Champions League is strong. The draw decided that Hypo will be our next opponent, a team that we are very familiar with, a team with e great renown, a team that is a brand in the female handball, so we are preparing seriously for that great challenge. We are familiar with the qualities of Hypo, as well as of their players individually. We have tapes of all games of Hypo played this season, so we will analyze every aspect of their game to help us prepare better for the matches. They had a small fall after the finals 2000 but now they are back o n the scene and definitely are a tough opponent. Anyway, we will not underestimate them, although I personally think we have a better team than Hypo.
We didn’t have much luck o n the duels with Hypo, will it change this time?
- This is a new generation of players that do not have trouble with the history of the matches between the two teams. Both teams have equal score o n the official matches in the CL (4 victories each) but we have o ne more victory in the final match of the tournament in Skopje. Anyway, we hope that we will have better luck with the referees this time because that is the bad tradition o n the matches between the two teams in Vienna.

Are you satisfied with the draw and what is your opinion for the team of Hypo?
-I must say that we are still under impression from the victory over Krim because there were some people who did not believe we can do it and we proved them that they are wrong. When it comes to Hypo, I will say that they are a strong team; there aren’t weak teams in the semis of the CL. We know their team pretty well, their backs, leaded by Logvin, are the best part of the team, so we are going to prepare physically and psychologically during the following period in order to end up as winners after the two games.
They have the two best scorers in the Champions League, is that saying something?
-That shouldn’t mean anything. The team plays the match, not o ne or two players. It’s always better if more players score few goals.
The tradition is not o n Kometal’s side before the semi final matches, what do you expect now?
-I think that now is the real moment to turn a new page in the history of the matches between the two teams! It is good that we will play the rematch in “Kale” in Skopje, so we will do our best to pass over Hypo and to play another final in the CL.
