Applications for the organization of the 2010 European ChampionshipsSaturday 17 September was the deadline for the national federations of the EHF to submit their bidding papers for the Men’s and Women’s European Championships 2010.
Men’s European Championships 2010
The following 3 nations have submitted their bidding documents to hold the Men’s 2010 European Championship:
· Austria (AUT)
· Croatia (CRO)
· Greece (GRE)The Men’s ECh will take place on 19 to 31 January 2010. The organiser will be awarded by the EHF Congress in Portugal on 5-6 May 2006.
Women’s European Championships 2010
Two nations have submitted their bid to organise the Women’s 2010 European Championship:
· Denmark (DEN)
· Norway (NOR)The Women’s 2010 European Championship will be held on 7 to 19 December 2010, and the organiser will also be awarded by the EHF Congress in May 2006 in Portugal.
2008/2009 YAC European Championships
After the 2008/09 YAC European Championships for Men18, Men20, Women17 and Women19 were announced on 4 August 2005, 20 registrations of interest have been submitted in staging one or more of the YAC European Championships in 2008/2009 (deadline for submitting the letter of intend was 19 September 2005):
ECh for Men 18: 4 BUL, CZE, LUX, MKD
ECh for Men 20: 6 DEN, CZE, FRA, MKD, POL, ROM
ECh for Women 17: 2 MKD, NOR
ECh for Women 19: 8 HUN, LUX, MKD, NED, NOR, POL, ROM, SUIThe preliminary fixed periods for the 2008/2009 YAC European Championships are:
· 2008 Men's 18 European Championship: 8 to 17 August 2008
· 2008 Men's 20 European Championship: 25 July to 3 August 2008
· 2009 Women's 17 European Championship: 31 July to 9 August 2009
· 2009 Women's 19 European Championship: 14 to 23 August 2009Nations have until 15 December 2005 to prepare their bidding documents.
